The Kabul Archeological Museum

For more of the incredible and also sad history of this excellent museum, click on the link Kabul Museum. While so much has been lost, many interesting pieces remain and make this a worthwhile visit for the traveler. The second time I was in there, and I always donate to the cause, drop in the bucket as it may be, a French military detachment was swarming all over and a French speaking guide was there to tell them about the displays.

The Darulaman Royal Palace

The old Royal Palace Of Darulaman sits opposite the Kabul Museum. Built by Amanullah in the 1920s, in grand European style, the palace is now little more than an empty shell. Don't explore the palace too closely as there are still unexploded ordnances (UXOs) in the area. (Lonely Planet Review)

While taking some pics of the old shell of a former royal palace, one of these kids saw me, it was a school holiday, and this happened next.

In fact, the followed me to the museum entrance, right across the street, and one of the museum guards came out to chase them away.
